tropes and aging
Sep. 9th, 2020 11:41 amGot to bed really late last night reading IT fanfic. Yeah, I never thought I'd be into IT fanfic either.
I have found that I love Eddie Kaspbrak/Richie Tozier fanfic.
It's middle-aged men falling in love and I have come to find I LOVE that shit.
I think it's because I'm nearing 50 but I've found it's harder to empathize with younger characters foibles and I am so over love triangles, finding one's self, etc. I have been there and done that and it's just not as appealing as it use to be for me.
Does anyone else find they have this problem, where their life experience makes them crave different kinds of fanfic tropes?
